PERSONAL LETTER
From Jack Burch

Dear Friends of Shooting Sports:

My staff, family and I have embarked on a road to install a shooting facility that rivals any in the world and is open to all the public and our national teams.  In this process we will have a facility with the venues that allow shooting all the events contested in the Summer Olympic Games, Sporting Clays, American Skeet and American Trap as well as recreation shooting in those disciplines and rifle & pistol.  America does not currently have a facility which is able to host all those events on one site with large enough venues to also host the world competitions that will make our teams competitive and that is centrally located in Texas.

To date we have installed the skeet & trap portions of the shotgun venue. Overlays include five International Skeet fields, five International Trap fields, three American Trap fields, five American Skeet fields, one Sporting Clay practice field and up to eight Sporting Clay competition fields and several 5-Stand fields.  We have begun construction of the 10 Meter Air Rifle & Air Pistol venue (Air Hall) and the initial dirt work of the 50 Meter and 25 Meter ranges.

To complete this dream we need to finish all of the rifle & pistol venues, improve the roads and parking, upgrade the shotgun venues to include 2 more American Trap Field overlays and landscaping.  To date my family, the City of Kerrville and the State of Texas Parks & Wildlife Department have collectively invested approximately $2.4 million dollars in this project.  An additional $4 million is needed to complete the project in a way that will make America proud.  That is a great deal of money and I hope you are asking yourself how in the world can I help?

We are launching the “Take My Dollar, Make a Dream Come True” campaign to help raise the money needed for this project which is an IRS approved 501(c)3 charity.  This, board of director run, corporation is able to issue charitable contribution letters to appropriate donors.
There are nearly 300 million people in the United States today and reportedly over 80 million of those are shooting enthusiasts. These are everyday folks who either own a firearm or shoot regularly.  In a 2005 survey of outdoor activities 2.1% of those responding stated they played tennis at least once per year, 9.2% played golf once per year and over 24% shot a firearm at least once per year, more than double the combined second and third place outdoor activities.

During his presidential run Mr. Obama raised over $3 million dollars in one day and $55 million in the month of February 2008 alone for a total of over $650 MILLION DOLLARS!  Senators Clinton and McCain raised vast sums of money for their campaigns as well.  These monies are from the same regular Americans who own and shoot firearms.

If only a portion of the folks mentioned above respond, we will be as successful.

We are asking two things of you today:  Send us one dollar, just one dollar, to help make this dream and the dreams of many athletes come true.  Second send this to all your friends and family and ask for their support as well.  With a small contribution from the 80 million sportsmen & sportswomen in the United States we can build a facility and program we all will be proud of.
